The Vocational Department was carved out of the Science/Humanities Departments on the 21st of June 2004 for a more effective and thorough management.

There are three units under this department. They are:

1. Agricultural Science Unit
2. Business Studies Unit
   
3. Home Economics Unit
   

AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE UNIT

• Maize farming
• Snail farming
• Vegetable farming
• Poultry farming
• Fishery
• Livestocks rearing - goats, cows, rabbits etc

BUSINESS STUDIES UNIT

• Business Studies for JSS1 to JSSIII
• Financial Accounting
• Typing and Shorthand
• Commerce

HOME ECONOMICS UNIT

• Clothing & Textiles
• Home Management
• Foods & Nutrition

The vocational department is the food basket of the College. The school farm which is the best among secondary schools in Nigeria is the product of the vocational department. The department boasts of snail farm, piggery, fish ponds, vegetable gardens, maize gardens, poultry farm,, cow/goat farms and so many others.The college is self sufficient in food courtesy of the vocational department.

The students in the department are adequately prepared for life after school. They produce different kinds of fashion materials, interior decorations, catering products etc. The journey to self employment for any student of CRC starts from the vocational department. The vocational department has a good number of qualified and professional staff.
